An introductory course designed to train entry-level firefighters, and refresh structural and wildland firefighters. You will gain knowledge of the basic incident management organization, firefighting techniques, suppression equipment, safety, strategy/tactics, and fire behavior. Weather permitting, field exercises will be held for valuable hands-on-training. Length 32 hours
S-131-Advanced Firefighter Training
A new course designed to meet the training needs of both advanced firefighter/squad (FFT-1) and incident commander type 5 (ICT5). The course is interactive, and contains several exercises encouraging group and class discussion. Course provides a comprehensive review of the Fireline Handbook. Training also included strategy, tactics, and safety with group exercises. Length 8 hours.

S-200-Initial Attack Incident Commander
This course is designed to meet the training needs of an IC-4. The subjects covered include incident size-up, deploying and ordering suppression resources, mop-up techniques, communications, and administrative duties. Length 16 hours

S-211-Portable Pumps
This course is designed to give trainees practical knowledge and applications skills of portable pump operations. Field exercises require the trainee to set up and operate portable pumps typically used in the local area. Length 24 hours

S-212-Wildfire Powersaws
This course has been designed to train students in the use of power saws and techniques in order to ultimately prepare them as a power saw operator on an incident. The course will cover duties and responsibilities of a saw operator, parts and maintenance of the chain saw, applications, safety and evaluation. Length 24 hours

S-215 Fire Operations in the Urban Interface
This course is designed to assist initial attack incident commanders and company officers in confronting wildland fires that threaten life, property, and improvements. Length 28 hours.

S-230-Single Resource Boss
This course is designed to meet the training needs of a single resource boss on an incident. The main focus is on the crew boss position. Units include preparation, mobilization, tactics & safety, off-line duties, demobilization, and post incident responsibilities. Length 24 hours

S-232 Dozer Boss
This course is designed to meet training recommended for the dozer boss on a wildland fire incident. Students will be taught to ensure that a dozer has been properly inspected and signed up, ensure a dozer operator is qualified and signed up, determine the capabilities and limitations of the dozer and operator to perform an assignment; and the actions to complete an assignment. Length 16 hours

S-233-Tractor Plow Boss
The course emphasizes tractor/plow safety and tactics using simulated wildland fire exercises. The students should be skilled tractor/plow operators. Length 12 hours.

S-234-Ignition Operations
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge/skill necessary to perform the job as ignition specialist. Students will identify resources needed to successfully conduct an ignition operation, develop an ignition plan demonstrating the knowledge of fire behavior, fire techniques, holding, and hazards, and to implement an ignition operation with emphasis on safety. Length 32 hours

S-260-Incident Business Management
Discusses business management principles associated with incidents. Course includes: employee responsibilities and conduct, recruitment personnel time recording; pay and commissary, correct reporting procedures for injuries, procurement and equipment time recording; property documentation, cooperative agreements with other agencies, and claims/accident investigations. Length 16 hours.

S-270-Basic Air Operations
This course covers the uses of aircraft and the safe and proper conduct around aircraft. Other topics covered are management policy, regulations and procedures governing operations, tactical and logistical uses of aircraft, and specifications for helicopter landing areas. Length 16 hrs.

S-271-Interagency Helicopter Training
This is a classroom/field course providing students proficiency in the tactical and logistical uses of helicopters. Topics include safety, PPE, capabilities, limitations, load calculations, helicopter makes and models, landing areas, fueling, contract administration, cargo transport, and helibase/helispot organization and operations. Length 32 hours.

S-273-Single Engine Airtanker Manager (SEAT)
This course is designed primarily to train individuals in the skills necessary to perform at the SEMG level in situations ranging from the simple to the highly complex operations. Length 40 hours

S-290-Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior
This skills course is designed to instruct prospective fire line supervisors in wildland fire behavior for effective and safe fire management operations. Length 32 hours.

I-200-Basic Incident Command System
This basic course introduces students to the principles associated with ICS, including organization, facilities, resource terminology, and common responsibilities associated with incident or event assignments. Length 12 hours
Prerequisites: S-130/190
I-300-Intermediate ICS
This course expands on Basic ICS (I-200), providing additional detail of the organization and operations of ICS. Also includes management of resources, description of all position duties and examples of essential principles used in incident planning. Length 24 hours
Prerequisites: I-200. Personnel assigned to ICS supervisory positions.
L-280-Followership to Leadership
This course is designed as a self-assessment opportunity for individuals preparing to step into a leadership role. The course includes one day of classroom instruction and one day in the field working through a series of problem solving events in small teams. Topics include: Leadership values, team cohesion factors, and ethical decision-making. Length 16 hours
FI210-Wildfire Origin & Cause Determination
This course will prepare the trainee to conduct investigations after a wildfire. Course teaches what the investigator must look for in determining origins and causes. Type III ICs, Prevention Specialists and Law Enforcement Rangers should take this course. Length 36 hours plus prework.
D-110-Dispatch Recorder/ROSS Refresher
This course is designed to train potential dispatch recorders on the structure of an expanded dispatch organization. It provides the student with a working knowledge along with the purpose and process of completing the resource order and other dispatch forms. Length 16 hours.
